Before installing Windows Xp O.S, disable first the SATA to prevent blue screen.
How to disable SATA? On the Startup press F10 then on the setting disable the SATA.
Xp driver for this laptop is really hard to find. The Compaq main website does not offer answer for this. They only provide Vista drivers. Here I'm Going to provide you the Windows Xp drivers:

4. Atheros AR5007EG. Here is how to install ,go to Start> Control panel> system> Hardware> Device Manager, right click to “Wireless network adapter” => Update Driver and locate "net5416.inf" on this folder then install.
5. Microsoft UAA, you have to reboot your notebook before continuing install driver (Conexant).
6. Conexant SmartAudio 221. Here is how to install>> go to Start> Control panel> system> Hardware> Device Manager, right click to “Audio Device on HD” => Update Driver and locate“TE1HER5a.inf” on the driver folder that I provided and install
7. Soft Data Fax modem Driver
8. Keypad mouse
9. quick launch buttons
*Remember there will be some alerts just click "continue anyway". It will be fine.
