Compaq Presario C793tu and other c700 XP-Amber light FIXED

With Amber light on the wifi button, its really hard to tell if you are already connected to a wifi connection. So, here is the fix for the amber light on the Wifi button:

Click "run", then type regedit then follow this:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Class/{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002bE10318}/0011(this is variable, it should contain the Network wireles driver)

Enter the following where your Network wireles driver is obtained on the folder. You have to add two new REG_DWORDS the first is

gpioPinFunc0
Set the value to 3
The Second is
gpioFunc0ActHi
Set this value to 0

Restart the Laptop, there you have it Amber light fixed! Whenever you are connected to a wireless network it will turn to Blue.
